The only problem I can find with this unit is that the heater on the block is bad. The block assembly has to be replaced and the cost is $500 from Thermolyne. This Fischerscope Beta Thickness Tester powers up and the digital display works, however I am unaware of how to formally test this unit. The front panel has two different Probe connectors. On the back panel there is 25-pin Printer Interface and a 25-pin RS 232C Serial Interface. 45 VA(A), 117 VAC (VDC), 50/60Hz. The wire-connector which attaches the measurement instrument to the control box has become disconnected (see photos), however repairs should be fairly easy.
